The big Tisha news at the moment is that Tisha has announced last week that she will retire after this season from soccer to persue starting a family and other things. This is not at all a "surprising" development, as Tisha has made mention that her playing days are starting to wind down before ... it's just "sad" to get official word that this indeed is going to happen.

Therefore, for all you Tisholics out there ... get out to remaining C'Rays games both at home or on the road, and play "tribute" to a class player who has done so much for the sport and for the game. I honestly do not think that there will be another player ever like Tisha, and because of this I think all her accomplishments both on and off the field will always set her apart from others.

In terms of the C'Rays, Tish hasn't been playing too much ... seems like she's been "relagated" to the bench, and hopefully she'll get more playing time soon! (Doesn't this oddly seem familliar? Sort of like what happened as Tisha's career with the USWNT came to an end ... coming off the bench and such ... )

Lastly, be on the look out for Operation Thank You: Part Deux in tribute to Tisha as her playing career comes to an end soon ... get involved and let Tisha know how much she's done for the game, the sport or even personally.

Big win!!

Tisha started her second game of the year this past weekend as the San Jose CyberRays travelled to play the Atlanta Beat at Herndon Stadium. The C'Rays emerged with a very important 1-0 victory as Brandi Chastain scored the 'Rays winning goal off a set piece.

With this win the C'Rays are now 2-2-0 and take on the regining WUSA Champions Carolina Courage this Satruday, May 10th for a showdown at Spartan Stadium

Tisha played a solid 60 minutes or so vs. the Beat as she looks to get back to form after battling a nagging knee injury that she has been fighting since the All-Star Game last September. And, speaking of All-Star Games, please do not forget to vote for Tisha for this year's upcoming All-Star Game to be played in Cary, North Carolina. So please VOTE FOR HER NOW!!

Busy two weeks ...

Hey guys ... sorry for the delay in updates. Been swamped with stuff among other things ... sorry!!!

To bring everyone up to speed of the last two weeks ...

The C'Rays took on the Washington Freedom on April 19th and lost 2-0 at home. Tisha did not start the game but came on midway through the second half like she did in the season opener. With the loss, the C'Rays fell to 1-1-0 on the season.

Yesterday, the C'Rays travelled to San Diego and took on the San Diego Spirit. Tish made her first start of the year and scored her first goal of the season in the 49th minute when she knocked in a crossed pass from Sissi into the goal. However, the C'Rays lost the game 2-1 and now have a 1-2-0 record for the year.

Next up for Tish and the C'Rays will be the Atlanta Beat on May 3rd in Atlanta.

Lastly, 2003 WUSA All-Star Game voting has begun ... Tisha is one of the midfielders on the ballot for the American team, so be sure to VOTE FOR HER NOW!! I am sure Tish can use as many votes as she can!!

Bye week ...

The C'Rays have this week "off", as they do not play their next game until next weekend when they host the Washington Freedom at home in Spartan Stadium.

I think this extra week will give Tish some more time to heal her knee, and hopefully she'll be playing more minutes next week!!

My cousins got Tisha's autograph after last week's game vs. the Charge, and they were nice enough to scan it up for me to display on the site ... she's signing with the "Hoch" now! (Unlike last year! lol).

I'm going to whip my butt into shape this upcoming Easter Weekend and will have pictures added to this site ... look out for that!!

Off and Running!

Can somebody please explain daylight savings time to me? lol ;)

Anywho...the C'Rays opened up their season last night with a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Charge. Tisha did not start the game (I guess she still isn't at 100%), and subbed in with about 20 minutes left in the game. From what I hear, she played well and helped "settle" the midfield down etc.

Hope a few pics of Tish in the snazzy orange jersey surfaces soon ;) lol...haha...

Season Kick Off!!

First off, I apologize for not getting the site updated last week ... been pretty busy with things, and things slipped a bit, sorry!!

Tish and the C'Rays open their 2003 season tomorrow vs. the Philadelphia Charge at Spartan Stadium. It should be interesting to see what the lineup Coach Sawyers uses, and how the team gels for their first game.

Tish still has a slightly "nagging" knee injury (suffered from last fall's All Star game), but should be ready to go. She played vs. the Boston Breakers last week during a preseason match, and should be starting come tomorrow's game.

In other Tish related news, you can catch Tisha in a C'Rays radio commercial airing in the Bay Area. Tish along with a few of her teammates narrates the commercial ... hopefully I can get the soundbite from the commercial up on the site in the comming days!

First weekly update!

This site will be updated on a weekly basis (usually Saturday mornings) from now on...when the season starts, there may be a few more "mid-week" updates, but for the majority of the "larger" updates, it'll happen on the weekends.

Today, I completed the total "transfer" of all Photo Galleries from the old site, as well as finishing up the transfer of the Tisholic Quiz. Also, the Pic of the Week has changed to, as it'll change...every week! lol Nothing too eventful, but hopefully I'll have more content to add to the site in the upcoming weeks...

The C'Rays take on the Boston Breakers tonight in a pre-season scrimmage, and it'll be interesting to see if Tish in fact plays this game or not...scores will be posted here once they are avaliable.

WELCOME TO THE NEW SITE!!

Hey everyone! Elaine here...after a few weeks of "hard work", the brand new tishaventurini.net is online now...revamped and hopefully better than ever!!

With the new season, comes a new look and I do hope everyone enjoys the new site and the new things I've added to the site...I would LOVE to hear what you think of the site in general, so please feel free to contact me about it!! I think the layout is simple and easy to get around...maybe not as "flashy" as my Go Big Red!! site, but I'm just as proud!
